Romans 5:1-4

5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christthrough whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of GodAnd not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseveranceand perseverance, character; and character, hope

Therefore, having been justified by faith- Our salvation

peace with God- We no longer in opposition to God, but at peace because we have been justified.

through our Lord Jesus Christ- This is how we have our peace, nothing we have done, all what he did.

access by faith into this grace -before we were saved we did not have his grace.

we stand- our permanent position

rejoice in hope of the glory of God- we triumph in the fact that death is the beginning.

glory in tribulations- This is not problems that arise because of us, but trials brought on by God or because we are followers of God.

Perseverance- The ability to withstand and not give in

Character- This is what we do when no one is looking, the idea here is we don’t give in even when no one is looking.

hope- In the promises of God
